Recognizing Singapore’s Chemical Engineers

Ispahan Managing Director in his appointment as Chair of the IChemE (Institution of Chemical Engineers) Singapore Board hosted the  Annual IChemE Awards dinner.  Started in 2008 it has grown and become embedded into the Singapore Process Industry Calendar.  This year there were seven awards given out in areas including Sustainability, Energy, Water, Pharmaceuticals, Training and Education, Young Researcher and Young Industrialist.  Every year this becomes a fierce competition due to the high quality of entrants from across industry and academia.

I was honored to give out the The Young Researcher Award  to Dr Ong Wee Jun, at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering Agency for Science, Technology and Research for his research breakthrough in efficiently utilising the solar spectrum for CO2 reduction and H2O splitting into energy-rich fuels, to mimic the natural photosynthesis process in plants.

Thank you to all for attending and supporting the event and I hope to see you all again next year.
